Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS)

When you child attends Thornborough, their first year is in the Reception class.  The children follow the EYFS curriculum, where learning is child initiated and through play.  Our children have the  most wonderful start to their education through the EYFS curriculum.  The are enriched with activities and opportunities to lead their own learning, to be curious and to explore their enquiring and imaginative mind.

The learning environment is key to this and our children have the opportunity to explore both inside and outside the classroom.  We have two classrooms that are set up to facilitate learning,  Oak and Willow room, and our outside area supports their independent learning too.
